Do you support the bills for Medicare for All, S 1804 or HR 1384” and if you are a sitting member of congress would you cosponsor either of these bills? If you do support Medicare for All, what actions are you taking to show your support? If no, what is your alternative plan?
Yes, I support.
No, I do not.
Our country is facing a serious healthcare crisis. The privatization of Medicaid has resulted in cuts to services and outright denials of care to those who need it the most. For those with private insurance, high costs and inefficiencies have resulted in higher premiums and diminished access. The problems with our current healthcare system are clear: the insurance and pharmaceutical industries are designed to profit off of our illnesses, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
At CCI Action we organize against the disastrous privatization of Medicaid in our state and for a system where everyone is in and nobody is out.
What role do you believe private insurance has in our healthcare system in the short term (2-3 years) and long term?

What steps would you take to ensure a robust long-term care program, with fair wages and working conditions for care workers, that meets the needs of our nation’s elderly and people with disabilities regardless of ability to pay?
Over 10,000 people in the US turn 65 every day, and people with disabilities continue to struggle to obtain the care they deserve. Despite high demand, across the country, and especially in rural communities, there is a huge recruitment and retention problem for care workers. The direct care workforce is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy, yet is dominated by low wages and limited career growth opportunities.
