WORKER'S RIGHTS

Yes, I support.

In 1947, Iowa passed the misleadingly-labeled "right to Work" which has allowed big-money corporations to control the lives of workers across Iowa and undermine their power. Even though Iowa has the second lowest unemployment rate in the country, Iowa has some of the lowest wages, lower than other states in the Midwest, and the state has preempted attempts to raise the minimum wage, effectively lowering minimum wages for thousands of Iowans. At the same time technological change and shifting economic conditions from manufacturing to services, will create new challenges on the future of work. A policy to guarantee “Unions for All” would give power back to workers to improve their lives.

How would you challenge corporate power to make sure that every worker has the opportunity to join a union? What steps would you take to improve the collective bargaining rights of workers?
